O Fortuna! Thank you!
A big thank you to YOU, our loyal and dedicated patrons. We're still walking on air from November's performance of Carmina Burana. Here's a rundown of Carmina by the numbers:
  • The Carmina concert was second all-time highest earning concert in NHSO history. Can you guess the first? (Hint: It was during the 2009-2010 season)
  • Over 2,200 people attended! This was the largest overall audience in DECADES!
  • We had 689 School Night students and their families.
And the audience reaction tells another part of the story:

“The place was packed to the rafters…I know because I was “in the rafters”. The sound was great and the music was high drama. If you ever want a testimonial for coming to a concert then last night would qualify. There is not a home stereo sound system on the planet that could compete with the experience of that live concert. No way! Even the sounds of the choruses in the balcony standing and sitting was integral to overall presentation. I left there totally invigorated and in the clouds. There is no substitute for a live performance like that! Congratulations NHSO”
Tom Edwards, NHSO Patron

“It was wonderful to be under [William’s] baton as a singer! It was a thrill to sing Carmina Burana in that beautiful auditorium. Having a full hall certainly energized us. The detail planning and arrangements to accommodate so many singers was masterfully executed. Thank you to the NHSO organization! The Student Night was so well done! The educational outreach had so many dimensions in introducing live music to so many constituencies: college students, young children, their parents, and teachers, many of whom were not music teachers and were first time concert-goers. Thank you for a lovely musical experience and for the MUSIC itself!
Ellen Kuroghlian, NHSO longtime subscriber, and Carmina Chorister

Looking for a FREE family-friendly holiday event? Visit the Knights of Columbus Museum for their featured exhibit Joyeux Noel: Christmas in Canada.

The nation of Canada is among the largest nations on earth geographically, and has a population of 35 million people. The nation’s Christian heritage traces back over four centuries to settlements established along its Atlantic shores by explorers and traders from Europe.

This exhibition recognizes Canada’s popular celebration of Christmas featuring crèches, sculptures and other forms of art. The crèche, or nativity scene, has been enjoyed by French Canadians for centuries. Interest in the crèche has grown among other Canadian Christians as well.
