2012 was a great year for People's Music School but 2013 will be even better! From exciting news for our off-site programs, to some must-see events that are right around the corner. This is certainly some News You Can Use.

FEBRUARY 2nd 2013

We did not waste anytime starting 2013 off right! SATURDAY FEB. 2 @ 11A we have the unique opportunity to perform side-by-side with Youth Orchestra of the Americas and Chicago Civic Orchestra. The concert will take place at Hibbard Elementary, 3244 West Ainslie Ave., Chicago, IL 60625.

FEBRUARY 10th 2013

The Chicago Consortium of Community Music Schools will be having their annual performance this year at the Chicago Cultural Center. Our students will be joined by the Chicago's Children Choir, Merit School of Music and many more!

FEBRUARY 17th 2013

SUNDAY FEB. 17th @ 2Pwe will perform with Chicago's own MER. “In a market place over saturated with corporate created talent, MER delivers a refreshing reminder that musicians with originality and heart still exist!” - Chicago Tribune

COMING SOON... People's Music School 29th Annual Perform-A-Thon! A full day of music, food, fun and community. Saturday April 27th from 10A-5P.

Y O U R S Project

People's Music School YOURS Project officially has our second el Sistema inspired location! Ames Middle School in Logan Square welcomed us with open arms Monday, January 14th for our YOURS Project launch in this new location. Newly promoted nucleo director, Thomas Madeja, greeted the students with his musical stylings. Our nucleo students have done some amazing things in 2012; held multiple concerts at Kosciusko Park, hosted a parade with Mucca Pazza and much more...Can't wait to see what happens in 2013.

With the continued expansion of the YOURS Project we've got more hands in need of instruments and we need your help! Because our programs operate solely on the kindness of our supporters our programs are as much YOURS as they are ours. We are currently seeking support in anyway that you can; time, instruments and monetary donations.We will be launching our first E-FUNDRAISER on February 14th. You'll be able to share this opportunity with your friends, family, co-workers, even post it on Facebook. Social Transformation through Musical Excellence!
