The class will focus on the blues and blues progression in jazz and introduce beginning to intermediate guitarists to jazz improvisation, style and harmony through a close examination of the blues and its use as the foundation for early and modern jazz styles.  A jam session will conclude the master class and students are encouraged to bring a small practice amp to participate. In addition to teaching at CMS, Kevin O'Neil is an adjunct professor at Tunxis Community College. As a performer, he enjoys being a freelance guitarist and has recorded many CDs through the years with Anthony Braxton, Klezmer clarinetist David Krakauer, saxophonist Steve Lehman and others.
