The Festival's record year
Thanks to friends like you, the Festival had a record year in 2012. After crunching the numbers, including our attendance records and economic impact survey, we found that the Festival achieved an attendance of 143,637 and had an economic impact for our region of $25 million— an increase of 28% over Festival 2011!
Since we’re an arts organization, we couldn’t just spit out the numbers: we created a colorful infographic summarizing facts about this year’s Festival and survey results. Click here to see the infographic!
We also got some exciting press coverage of the results:
- In the New Haven Register: “Support of the festival’s budget by the state and major sponsors — Yale University, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, First Niagara Bank, National Endowment for the Arts and AT&T — has been more than repaid in the festival’s economic boost to the city and region, as well as in artistic and intellectual enjoyment.”
- In the Hartford Courant: “New Haven’s International Festival of Arts & Ideas announced that its June events attracted 143,637 people, an increase of 28 percent from the 2011 festival. This year’s festival registered an economic impact of $25,114,478, also about a 28 percent increase.”
