Hamden Symphony Orchestra

The HAMDEN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AT QUINNIPIAC is a volunteer orchestra of more than 50 members affiliated with Quinnipiac University. Founded in 1962 by Ruth Brooks, it provides cultural enrichment to the Hamden and Quinnipiac communities through its series of concerts, its annual Young Musicians Concerto Competition, and by the orchestral experience it offers to area musicians and soloists. Membership is open to all qualified musicians, subject to openings in a particular section. Quinnipiac students and faculty can participate and students can earn college credit.

An intensive 10 day program for children ages 8 - 10.

Horns For Kids

Horns For Kids is a non-profit organization that supports deserving school music programs throughout Connecticut. Our main purpose is to encourage children to experience the thrill of performing music in school, and as a life-long activity. H4K raises funds through private and corporate contributions -- and awards grants to deserving school music programs. H4K also accepts donations of new and used instruments and distributes them to Connecticut schools. (H4K is the charitable arm of The Great Connecticut Jazz Festival.)

Central Connecticut Civic Youth Orchestra

The Meriden ArtsTrust (MAT), is a non-profit agency that serves as a volunteer administrator for youth arts projects and other selected non-profit organizations. The first large-scale project is the Central Connecticut Civic Youth Orchestra, (CCCYO).
