At her induction to the American Academy of Arts and Science in May 2009 it was said that “Augusta Read Thomas's impressive body of works embodies unbridled passion and fierce poetry. Ms. Thomas has had works commissioned by the leading orchestras around the world including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Dallas Symphony, Orchestra of Paris, London Symphony, Boston Symphony, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
