Arts in Bethel Ct in 1978
Posted on: 01/13/2008 12:41 PM
Well, it's hard to remember because it was a long time ago. I was in college prep courses so I didn't take too many arts classes. (Oops, didn't go to college either, ended up joining the Navy). I'm pretty sure we had basic arts requirements for all students and clubs and activities for those more interested in pursuing them. I remember friends being involved in "Troupe" and band. There was an annual play, and I remember a talent show at one point. I was very shy, and not too good at drawing or any of the "traditional" arts so I didn't get too involved. Most of my learning came from doing crafts with my mom and sewing doll clothes. Later I found I liked photography and taught myself through reading. That pretty much turned out to be my pattern for the remainder of my life. If I was interested I went to the library and read up on it, then just tried it.
